Rove

Steer by tilt alone

Effective September 14, 2026 · Applies to the Rove mobile app

1Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to Rove (the "Application"), a tilt-controlled ball-in-a-maze puzzle game distributed through the Google Play Store and, when released, the Apple App Store. It explains what information the Application handles and how.

2Information We Collect

The Application does not require registration or an account, and it never asks for your name, email address, or any other personal detail to play.

Rove does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It also makes no network requests at all - the Application works entirely offline, before and after installation.

3Information Stored On Your Device

Your choices on the title screen - board shape, pattern, mode, course length, ball count, wood finish, and sound preference - are saved only in the Application's private local storage on your device, so they're remembered the next time you open it.

The Application also keeps your play statistics there: for each board and setup you play, how many games you started and solved, and how long your solves took. They are shown only to you, on the Stats screen.

The Application never sends any of this data to us, to an app store, or to any third party. Rove keeps no server, so there is nowhere for it to go.

If you have turned on your device's own backup - Google backup on Android, or iCloud on iOS - the operating system may include this data in that backup, under your account, and restore it when you set up a new device. That backup is provided by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies; we have no access to it.

4Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Application does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or any comparable tracking technology.

5Permissions and Device Sensors

Rove reads your device's motion sensors (accelerometer) to translate tilting the phone into gravity inside the maze. Reading motion sensors does not require a runtime permission prompt on Android or iOS, and no sensor data is stored or transmitted anywhere - it is used live, one frame at a time, purely to move the ball.

The Application may briefly vibrate your device for tactile feedback when a ball settles or strikes a wall, and it may keep the screen from dimming while a board is on screen, since the game is played by tilting rather than touching. Neither capability collects any information, and neither requires you to grant a permission.

Rove does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or any other sensitive device permission - none of them are needed for the game to work.

6Third-Party Services

The Application is distributed through the Google Play Store and, when released, the Apple App Store. Downloading, installing, and (if applicable) paying for the Application is subject to Google's and Apple's own privacy policies, which are outside our control.

Aside from those storefronts, Rove does not share information with any third party, because it does not collect any to share.

7Children's Privacy

Rove is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no account, profile, or personal data is ever requested, there is nothing for a child - or anyone else - to submit.

If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information (for example, by email), contact us and we will delete it.

8Data Retention

Locally stored settings and statistics persist on your device until you clear them yourself - statistics with Reset stats on the Stats screen, or everything by clearing the Application's storage or uninstalling it. We hold no copy of them anywhere, because none is ever sent to us.

9Your Rights and Choices

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing held about you on any server for us to access, correct, or delete. You can erase your statistics at any time with Reset stats on the Stats screen, and all locally stored data by clearing the Application's storage or uninstalling it.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information do not add anything in practice here, since we do not collect, sell, or share personal information. If you have questions about this, contact us at the address below.

10International Users

The Application can be installed and played from anywhere. Since no personal data is collected or transmitted by the Application, no cross-border transfer of your personal data occurs as part of using it.

11Security

Because Rove has no server and never sends gameplay data anywhere, there is no central database of player data for us to secure or that could be breached.

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated effective date.

1Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Rove (the "Application"), a tilt-controlled ball-in-a-maze puzzle game, operated by its developer ("we", "us", "the Service Provider"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.

2License to Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application for personal, non-commercial entertainment.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from the Application, except to the extent such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

3Intellectual Property

The Service Provider retains all rights, title and interest in the Application, including its code, board designs, artwork, and branding. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Service Provider's trademarks or branding.

4No Accounts, No User-Generated Content

The Application does not offer user accounts, profiles, chat, leaderboards, or any way to submit or share content with other players or the public. Your settings and play statistics are kept on your own device, for you alone, and are never sent to us.

5Third-Party Platforms

If you obtained the Application from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, your download, installation, and use are also subject to that platform's own terms of service, in addition to these Terms.

6Connectivity and Device Requirements

Rove works entirely offline. It needs no internet connection at any point - to install, to play, or to save your settings and statistics - and it makes no network requests.

The Application relies on your device's motion sensors to be steered, so it is designed for handheld phones and tablets rather than devices without a working accelerometer. It is your responsibility to keep your device charged, updated, and able to run the Application; the Service Provider is not responsible for the Application not functioning correctly on unsupported or incompatible devices.

7Updates

The Service Provider may release updates to the Application from time to time and may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time. There is no guarantee that every version of the Application will remain available, supported, or compatible with your device or operating system indefinitely.

8Termination

The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your license to use the Application if you materially breach these Terms, including by attempting to reverse engineer or redistribute it. Upon termination, you must stop using the Application and delete any copies from your devices.

9Disclaimer of Warranties

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

10Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Application.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service Provider is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except to the extent mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise. Nothing in this clause limits any right you may have to bring a claim in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable mandatory law.

12Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service Provider regarding the Application.

13Changes to These Terms

The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Application after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, which will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
